Standing at the edge of a small "lake" in the middle of Matanuska Glacier, formed by the summer heat melting the snow and ice, there is a hundred feet of ice beneath your feet at this location. Located in Southcentral Alaska, Matanuska Glacier is one of the most rapidly retreating glaciers in the world.
